PAPIR!

29 June – 24 August 2024

More than 40 artists contribute works to the exhibition, which focuses on paper as a form of artistic expression.

The entire gallery will be filled with works on paper in countless forms:

From pencil drawing to woodcut, with sewing thread on paper and watercolours. Lithographs, prints, and even 3-dimensional works on paper can be found at the exhibition, where over 40 artists contribute their works. Many of the works were created directly for the exhibition. Others are from the former gallerist Georg's impressive collection of big Danish names.

WHY PAPER?

Over the past century, the definition of paper work has expanded its boundaries considerably. In the past, drawings were perceived as preparations for other works of art or illustrative images, but in recent years have transformed into an art form in their own right – and have become the favorite of many artists.

As with painting and sculpture, artists have pushed the boundaries of paper as a medium and expanded the possibilities and meaning of line and surface.
